. . . and after

We bought our house in downtown Durham a little over four years ago. We were drawn in by the energy of the city just about to burst into fireworks of new life, and the potential of the beautiful white stately house with 7 fireplaces, a lovely shape, a teeny tiny yard, and a friendly looking park down the street. We had enough imagination and youth in our bones to be really excited to transform our place into the perfect downtown family house. We took before pictures (here) and set to work, and work, and work. And truth be told, we could probably keep pruning and perfecting for as long as we stayed here. But we have been shown an open door to walk through to another lovely boned and beautifully situated home down the road, and so, as we depart, it is time for the official "after" photo tour.

Pretty white city house, you cleaned up so well!  May you shelter and inspire your new owners for years to come.
