Early March

We definitely got hit by winter illness this year last March. It was no fun. While Ella was upstairs in bed one day, Nora and Susanna created this cute little reading nest.

But, we recovered.

Day trip

There is a great little day trip we take from the Maryland house--to Rehoboth Beach. It is a beautiful beach town with (Paul concurs) one of the best streets for touristy shopping we have ever seen. Paul does not concur on how fun it is to shop and browse through a ton of those shops, but he does oblige me and come along. There's caramel popcorn in it for him, as well as Dogfish Head Brewery, excellent consolation prizes.

Here are some crazy lovely hydrangeas we found tucked in among the stores.

For some odd reason, the girls wanted to be photographed with this buddha (or other eastern religion?) statue. No spiritual significance to this photo, but look at those smiles! Had to snap it and record them.

Before today, we had never driven the extra 15 minutes up to Lewes (pronounced Lewis, not lose), DE. It was founded in 1631, and we had hoped to catch the 2pm historic Lewes walking tour advertised on the website . . . but it was canceled with a paper sign at the historical society. Oh well. That was after our hopes of catching the ferry from Lewes to Cape May were dashed when I tried to get tickets last week only to find it completely sold out for the foreseeable future. However. It was a very quaint old town with even more cute shops and we enjoyed the trip!

Our day ended with another blazing Merryland sunset. Red sky at night, McCall family's delight!

February 2016 in Florida!

Nora is 5!!

Nora turned 5 today!! She is blossoming into a good thinker, honest speaker, hilarious joker, talented builder, graceful dancer, and continues to be my wild fairy! We had a very happy day here in Merry-Land!

This cake, while simple, came out so SO much better than my poor attempt at holding Ella's cake together by the crumbs as it fell apart while I iced it, that I just had to capture a photo to preserve my self esteem.

A special feature of Nora's day, and our visit here this time is that Aunt Debbie was with us!

It was mostly a rainy day today, which was perfect for reading our new books and playing with the new Lego Friends set. But before it got really wet, we hit the Ocean City boardwalk!

Ella has taken some cute pictures lately! Handy to have such a talented and willing photographer around!

Birthday presents!

Yesterday, just to tack on a few more photos, we hit the beach, and the Assateague Life of the Marsh trail. Such a pretty walk! Susanna is saying something like "Horseys!" in this photo. They are just out of view in the photo.
